The City of Geneva in partnership with the City of Conneaut has received a Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program (CHIP) grant in the amount of $700,000 from the Ohio Development Services Agency. The grant provides for four (4) housing activities: $388,500 for Homeowner Rehabilitation to assist approximately 10 households; $63,200 for Rental Rehabilitation which will assist approximately 2 households; $158,000 for Home Repair which will assist 19 households; Home Repair Rental in the amount of $6,300 to assist approximately 1 household. The balance of the grant provides for fair housing and administration. The grant must be completed by October 31, 2017.
All participants must meet the eligibility requirements, and be within the income guidelines for the program. Public meetings have been scheduled as follows:

The programs and requirements will be explained. Fair housing training will also be included. Applications will be available at the public meeting or may be picked up at the City Manager’s Office of each of the Cities the day following the meeting.
The Conneaut Fire Department will be conducting fire hydrant flushing from Monday, August 24th to Tuesday, October 6th. Fire hydrant flow testing will also be conducted in certain areas of the city as needed. Hydrant flushing will be conducted between 8AM and 4PM Monday through Friday.
